Adelaide - The Women's and Children's Hospital

The Women's and Children's Hospital (WCH) is South Australia's largest specialist facility for women's and children's health.

The Women's and Children's Hospital (WCH) is the leading provider of care for children with acute and chronic conditions in South Australia, and the State's largest maternity and obstetric service. WCH also provides important community-based services.

WCH is highly regarded as a centre for research. As one of South Australia's major teaching hospitals, the WCH works with all three South Australian universities in the training of hundreds of health professionals each year.

The Hospital forms part of the Women's and Children's Health Network, one of five health networks in South Australia.

Department of Neurology

The Neurology Department provides tertiary level medical diagnostic and treatment services for children with neurological disorders. Their mission is to provide contemporary, patient-focussed clinical care and diagnostic services for children and adolescents with neurological disorders, in an equitable and timely manner.

Diagnostic Services include:

  • Specialist neurological consultations
  • Diagnostic electrophysical services which include:
    • Electro-encephalography (EEG)
    • Inpatient Video EEG Monitoring
    • Ambulatory EEG Monitoring
    • Electromyography
    • Nerve Conduction
    • CNS Evoked Potentials

Treatment services are provided at a specialist neurologist level.
